Hi everyone,

I’m Karen Clark and I will be 18 on May 18th 2008. I live in Birmingham, AL, with my parents, Tim and Alice. We are all Christians. I don’t have any brothers or sisters or any pets. I would like to have a dog but my mom doesn’t like animals. Dad is in the USAF and mom does voluntary work for different charities. We move around quite a bit because dad gets posted to different places around the globe.

I have a boyfriend and his name is Jason, he’s 19 and he’s at college right now. I only get to see him once a week but our relationship is strong. We plan to get engaged next year when I start college.

The picture of me is quite old but it’s one of my favorites. Becky came into the house jumping up and down with excitement saying we needed to come and see the snowman she made. So we went out and we couldn’t even see it because it was so tiny and so totally rubbish (Sorry Becky!) So that’s me making fun of her tiny snowman that took her hours to make.

I would describe myself as quite friendly, very outgoing, and extremely funny. I like skiing, mountaineering, canoeing, hiking, and camping. I’m very much an outdoor person. When I’m at home, I like to listen to music (all kinds), read (anything that’s lying about), watch movies (I’m not fussy), and watch TV (anything that happens to be on). I also collect teddy bears and I have 57 different bears and they all have names. I don’t really like sports very much but I’ll play soccer or basketball if someone asks.

My family is very important to me and I love my mom and dad (I’m a bit of a daddy’s girl but not quite as bad as Becky who is totally, totally nuts about her dad), my grandpa and grandma, and all my other zillions of relatives. We have a family reunion every summer and we just have the most fun ever; I wouldn’t miss it for the world.

Alison “suggested” that we say something about Becky at the end of our introductions. Was that really Alison’s suggestion? Anyway, she didn’t say whether to say something good or bad did she? I met Becky on the base when we were stationed in Suffolk, England. I was sitting in the canteen waiting for dad and then Becky came in and sat at the table opposite. After a while, she came over and asked if she could sit with me and then we just started talking. She was so friendly and she was so interested in everything I said (I’m a BIG talker). I felt like I’d bored her to death with all my talking but she just said, “You are not boring at all, no. You are a very interesting girl, you really are.” That’s how she talks, you know. So that was our first meeting. We soon became good friends and after some Bible studies with her and her mom, I was baptized. Mom and dad were baptized a year later. Becky has done so much to help me in many ways but I just haven’t got the space to tell you because Alison told us to keep our introductions short. Becky is the most wonderful person in the whole world BUT she frightens me when she gets angry and gives me one of her looks, like her eyes are on fire.
