DANCING IN THE WAY

by

Becky Rene

This is based on the tune “Lord Of The Dance” by Donovan – You can learn the tune HERE!

Put mouse cursor on Scripture reference to read

Inspired by Deuteronomy 13.1-4; Galatians 1.8; Mark 13.22

I danced in the way and this young man says to me,

“This road’s very narrow why don’t you follow me?”

But I didn’t like his song ‘cause all the words were wrong.

So I danced right round him and I sang my song

Dance, dance along the narrow way

And sing this song on the road with me

Don’t listen to the songs of strangers by the way

And you won’t get fooled or be led astray

I danced in the way and an “angel” said to me,

“I hear you sing that song and you’ve got the words all wrong”

So I said, “They can’t be wrong ‘cause I read them every day”

So I danced right through him and went on my way

Dance, dance along the narrow way

And sing this song on the road with me

Don’t listen to the songs of strangers by the way

And you won’t get fooled or be led astray

I danced in the way and the Devil saw me fall

He said, “What a wicked soul, you’re not in the way at all”

But I prayed to the Lord and he took my sin away

So I danced right past him in the narrow way

Dance, dance along the narrow way

And sing this song on the road with me

Don’t listen to the songs of strangers by the way

And you won’t get fooled or be led astray
