Why do you bear such suffering and
shame
When in this world it brings no gain?
Why that cross do you bear
When people of this world don't care?
My thoughts ascend to realms
unknown
Beyond the clouds in them to roam
While in this tent my lot's to groan
My joy awaits in that far home
Why drive yourself without regard
When the road you travel is so hard?
Why don't you leave that treacherous track
And dump that burden on your back?
My thoughts one day will cease to
roam
When I ascend to realms unknown
I'll leave this tent with one last moan
And cry for joy in that far home
Why keep up this daily preaching
When everyone ignores your teaching?
Why preach Christ as man's solution
When all it brings is persecution?
My thoughts are set on Christ above
Who died for all and showed us love
"His blood for sin does atone"
