THE NARROW ROAD

Inspired by Matthew 7.13-14
I walk along the narrow road that few have ever found
a path that saints have trod before that leads to higher ground.
You enter through the narrow gate, that’s the only way
no need to knock or ring a bell it’s open night and day.
The way will seem so hard at times and more than you can bear
but Jesus loves and cares for you and will your burdens share.
You may be tried and tempted as you walk along the way
but God provides the strength you need to get you through each day.
You must stay on the narrow path until your final breath
the only other road is broad and that just leads to death.
So persevere and don’t despair of daily struggles and strife
for at the end of that long road you’ll find eternal life.
