I’m so hard-pressed from both directions:
my heart’s desire and true affections
To be with Christ is surely gain
for fruitful labor I would remain
There is a yearning in my heart
that I may from this life depart
To be with Christ in heaven above
where I will know eternal love
But I know I’m needed here
by those I love and hold so dear
So for their sakes I must remain
and run my course in this domain
